TAGS, or Tidewater Area Gaming Society (formerly Tidewater Strategy Group) is a board gaming club located in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area of S. E. Virginia (North Carolina to Williamsburg). We enjoy playing board games, specifically strategy style board games such as Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Eclipse, Power Grid, Robo Rally, Qwirkle, Stone Age and the like. Some of us are fans of heavier strategy war game, collectible card games, and other things.
TAGS hosts a monthly all day event we simply call “GAME DAY”. It’s not unusual to see a game day have tables of Eclipse, traditional Mah Jongg, Qwirkle, and Galaxy Trucker happening simultaneously. Like 7 Wonders? Grab one of the multiple copies our members bring and round up a few folks! Prefer Agricola? You’ll find a copy or two of that on the shelves also. Even a rousing game of Can’t Stop or Loopin’ Louie will have an observer of two waiting their turn.
Stay late enough into the evening and you might even get to join in on a game of Cards Against Humanity or Times Up! Whatever your preferred board gaming weight you’re sure to find it among our members! Stop by the Central Library in Virginia Beach on the First Saturday of any month. You’ll find us ready to bring you into our gaming fold
