Neuro-Affirming Parenting Support
“At Raising Brain, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and behavior modification techniques are not part of the approach. Instead, the focus is on understanding behavior, not changing it. Every behavior is seen as communication, and the goal is to explore the underlying causes (antecedents) leading up to the behavior. Redirecting before escalation helps children express themselves in safer, more effective ways. Neuro-Affirming Parenting Consultations are inclusive of all neurotypes, supporting both neurotypical and neurodivergent families.”
Homeschooling Consultation
“Our consulting service specializes in guiding families through the homeschooling journey with a focus on neurodivergent needs. Whether you’re just starting out or seeking a fresh perspective on homeschooling, we offer personalized support to help you create an environment that nurtures both academic growth and emotional well-being. By emphasizing social-emotional learning, our approach prioritizes self-awareness, empathy, and resilience, allowing academics to flourish naturally in a balanced and supportive setting.
In our in-person or virtual consultation, we’ll explore ways to minimize stress and clarify how homeschooling differs from traditional schooling. We’ll discuss how learning together and integrating educational opportunities into everyday life can benefit your child.”
Microschool
“Our fall Microschool program fosters a strong community of learners, similar to a homeschool co-op, but with professional staffing—no teaching, volunteering, or extra fees required from parents. We offer drop-off enrichment for homeschooling families, emphasizing real-world socialization. Learners enjoy high-speed internet, a Chromebook, and a Google Classroom account for tech-based projects, with accommodations for those who prefer typing or graphic design software. See our technology policy for safety details.
At Raising Brain, our project-based curriculum integrates subjects like history, science, art, and engineering, complementing home studies for students ages 5-15. The program promotes collaborative learning and self-paced progression, fostering critical thinking and creativity through real-world applications.
We use mixed-age groups to encourage peer learning, mentorship, and leadership. Older children support younger ones, reinforcing their learning and building empathy, while younger students are exposed to advanced concepts and role models.
Our program also prioritizes social-emotional learning through group projects and collaborative activities, helping students build interpersonal skills and a strong sense of community.”
