Friendship Circle of Virginia (FCVA) is a 501c3 (81-5132419) non-profit organization that aims to create an inclusive community by facilitating friendships and social opportunities for people with and without disabilities to connect through meaningful social experiences at home and throughout the community. We celebrate the differences and similarities of every person, valuing each of us as an integral part of the community.
Friendship Circle was founded on the Jewish principle that every person has a unique purpose in this world that only they can achieve with their specific abilities and challenges. Our role is to create an inclusive community where each soul can shine and truly belongs.
Friendship is a necessity at every age and we are committed to creating social opportunities for children and individuals with disabilities by pairing them with neurotypical teens and youth for weekly, in-home play dates, social outings, and monthly inclusive events throughout RVA. Creating these experiences will enable our youth to grow into leaders who appreciate the differences amongst us and embrace our similarities.
This core program pairs teens with individuals with disabilities for weekly home visits during the school year, and these visits are enhanced by a full range of innovative group activities and events.
