Briefing on New Supports for Families: Child Care Subsidy Expansion & Child Tax Credit

During the 2021 Virginia General Assembly session, legislation was passed that temporarily expands Virginia’s child care subsidy program to families earning up to 85% of the state median income and to those parents who are in the job search process.

And new federal resources are available to families starting this month through the Child Tax Credit/Allowance, triggering monthly payments for eligible families with children.
